Does Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar Use Quick-Disconnects with EZ Base Plate Kit

Hi. I purchased from eTrailer many parts for towing my 2013 Smart ForTwo behind my motorhome. Two of the parts I purchased were a Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit 52285-1 and the Roadmaster Falcon All-Terrain, Non-Binding tow bar RM-522. In reading the manual to the Roadmaster two bar, it states “The quick-disconnect system is not used with MS, MX, or EZ5 brakets”, so I guess I don’t use the quick- disconnect base that came with the tow bar. Correct? Now concerning the safety cables. I have already purchase the two long Roadmaster 68inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables RM-643, however in reading the manual to the Roadmaster tow bar, it states, “Some Roadmaster tow bar mounting brackets with removable arms, such as the one in Figure 9 shows illustration of the quick disconnect system connected to two removable arms, and two short cables connected on each side, use both a long safety cable and a short safety cable on each side”. The manual went on to say, “Each long safety cable runs from the towing vehicle to a quick link attaching to one of the quick-disconnects. This quick link is also an attachment point for one of the short safety cables: another quick link attaches the short safety cable to the mounting bracket”. So if I don’t need the quick-disconnect system, I don’t need to purchase two short safety cables? Correct?

The Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, part # RM-522, that you purchased connects to the EZ Base Plate Kit, part # 52285-1, using the quick-disconnects. It does not use them when connecting to MS, MX, or EZ5 base plate kits, like you said, but this is not what you have.

Also, since you do use the quick-disconnects, you should be using the included short safety cables with the # RM-643 cables you purchased.
