Any cargo carrier will need to have at least 6 inches from its hitch pin hole to the nearest part in order to clear the back of your 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon. I've attached our installation video that includes these measurements for quick reference.
For the cargo carrier, you've got a lot of choices, depending on what you're looking for. I've attached a complete list of all of our folding carriers.
I recommend the Carpod Walled Carrier, part # M2205-01-02 is a great pick if you're looking for a completely enclosed option that locks and can still fold flat behind the vehicle. With its closest part at 12 inches when folded up, you're not in danger of contacting the rear of your vehicle. Additionally, the CarPod kit includes a weather-resistant cargo bag for use inside the carrier, letting you have a little more flexibility in when and what you're carrying.
