Ground Clearance of a Swagman XTC-2 on a 2014 Subaru Impreza
Question:
I have a 2014 Subaru Impreza. I had a trailer hitch installed to carry a bike rack. Problem is ground clearance. The rack would hit the road with incline or pot hole or the front tire was too close so I had to take the front tires off . Now I’m looking into this type of bike carrier. Do you have a reference guide that will tell you if my Impreza is compatible with your rack and have adequate ground clearance?

I've included a video fof the Swagman XTC-2, part # S64670 on the back of a 2012 Subaru Impreza. This same generation model as your 2014 Subaru Impreza has 13 inches of ground clearance to the bottom of the bike holder, and is 6-1/2 inches away from the rear of the vehicle. We generally recommend that a rack keeps bikes at least 6 inches away from the tail pipe to prevent damage to the bike.
All in all, the XTC-2 is a better choice for your vehicle, and will have comparable ground clearance to your vehicle.
