Will HydraStar Actuator Improve Response Time For Camper With Electric Over Hydraulic System

Question:

I have a Trail Manor camper with brake rite EHB electric over hydraulic actuator. It takes about an extra 1 Second of time for the trailer brakes to build pressure and grab from the EHB from the time the pull vehicle brakes are pressed. Would the Hydrastar actuator for disc brakes improve on this issue?

I called the manufacturer and talked to their tech support team. Before replacing your actuator, they said:

1. Make sure constant 12-volt regarding power.
2. Check proportional valve and make sure no corrosion or trash impacting function.
3. Make sure strong ground and ground should be run through pigtail for best functioning.

If all of these check out then the delay is partly the nature of how the EHB Actuator works. They told me there is always a slight delay for the brakes to build pressure and grab but this delay can be shortened. If this does not get everything working to your satisfaction then it would certainly be a good idea to consider a new actuator and the Hydrastar actuator for disc brakes, Item # HBA16, is a great option.

If you need my help with anything else, just contact me.
