Troubleshooting One Trailer Brake Assembly Not Working Correctly
Question:
One side of my trailer brake is not working . Added new ground , new magnet proper adjustments on shoes . Whats next , othe three work fine. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

With a new ground, and new magnet, the only possibilities are a bad magnet or more likely a bad power wire. I recommend testing that power wire to that brake assembly when using the manual override on your brake controller or pulling the pin on a breakaway. This should put 12V power to that magnet. Test the wire using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. If you have power then you have a bad ground or a bad magnet. I've attached an article on testing the magnet.
If your power is bad, then trace that wire probing it with the circuit tester every few feet until you find the short or connection issue. Replace as needed with # 10-1-1.
