Roof Rack Recommendation for 2017 Ford Escape Titanium for Older Yakima Skybox 16

Question:

I have what I think is an older model of the Yakima SkyBox 16. Measures about 84inch in length. I am considering buying a Thule 450 roof rack to mount on my new Escape. Given the opening hatchback and the antenna location, it looks like the carrier will hang over the front of the car measuring from roof line of metal where it meets the windshield about 14 inches. Is this too far forward for a safe carry? If so, which carrier would be a better choice?

For your 2017 Ford Escape with raised roof rails the Thule Roof Rack consisting of the Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401, 53" WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420, as well as locks # TH450400. This will work well to carry your Yakima SkyBox 16. The box overhanging 14 inches would not be an issue either.
