Fastway Weight Distribution System Recommendation for Trailer with 3,500 GVWR

Question:

Hi there, Trying to figure out which of these would work best for me. 20ft trailer. Dry tongue weight: 356lbs UVW: 2,633lbs GVWR: 3,500lbs I noticed that the 92-00-0600 trunnion has a greater tongue weight range 250lbs-600lbs than the 94-00-0600 round bar of 400lbs-600lbs. Im not really sure what the loaded tongue weight would come to with a full propane tank, battery, cargo, etc. Would the round bar suffice? Or will my tongue weight be too light?

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

So your dry tongue weight is 356 lbs but when your trailer is loaded it could get up to 525 lbs pretty easily.

So realistically the round bar E2 part # FA94-00-0600 that you referenced should work just fine as it has a range of 400 to 600 lbs and your tongue weight when loaded would pretty easily get up to 400 lb.

You'll need a thin walled socket to install the ball though. Since it is such a high torque, you can go to your nearest dealer or auto shop and have them torque it for you for a reasonable fee.
