Troubleshooting Tekonsha Voyager Being Used with a 1996 Dodge 2500
Question:
1996 dodge 2500 diesel with Tekonsha voyager My Voyager has the green light but is not delivering power to the trailer and the trailer is not charging either. I? can’t get a red light. Ive cleaned all the terminal at the battery and the connector at the hitch. The slide bar is not working either. After 25mph green light will not turn to red. So I have no brakes on the trailer. Any suggestions thankyou...

Just to be sure that the issue is isolated to your 1996 Dodge 2500 I recommend setting the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 to the highest setting and then checking the brake controller pin on your 7-Way (in the 5 o'clock position) with a circuit tester, like part # PTW2992, for any power. You can also try this with the 12V power pin (in the 1 o'clock position) since you said your trailer isn't charging.
If you are not getting any power then what you will want to do is sever the wire from your 7-Way to your brake controller about 6 inches from the brake controller and perform the same test. If you get power then the problem lies somewhere on the wiring between your Voyager and the 7-Way.
If that still doesn't work then you will want to test the Red wire on the back of the Voyager to see if it receives any power when your brake pedal is pressed. If it doesn't then you have isolated the problem to the signal from your stop light switch and you may need to replace wiring, but if it does receive power then your Voyager needs to be replaced.
If you let me know what you find I can help you troubleshoot further.
