Adding Stabilizer Jacks to the Rear of a Fifth Wheel

Question:

I'm wanting to add two extra stabilizer jacks to my 5th wheel. I was told that the electric one's I have really don't work properly because they really need to be about 6 feet from the rear of the frame. I was looking at the Husky brand but don't know how to measure for the proper height. I'm guessing I measure from the bottom of the I-beam frame then subtract for some blocks.

To measure for ground clearance for stabilizer jacks you were correct in that you need to measure from the bottom of your fifth wheel's frame to the ground when you are set up (including if you are using blocks). For exampl the Ultra-Fab # UF48-979032 jacks have a lift of 30" and collapsed height of 4-3/4". I've attached a link a to video review of this product for you to take a look at.
