Why are Colors on Wiring Harness # 50-97-410 Different from Wire Colors on 2008 Ford F-250
Question:
Have a 2008 F-250. Looking at the wiring harness Item # 50-97-410. Why are the wiring colors/positions different than the pickup? On pickup they are yellow-left turn, green-right turn, brown-tail lights. I know they probably function correctly, but why are they different?

Although there are common wire colors for different functions, there is no "standard" that anybody has to meet which results in the different colored wires.
We have even found that on some vehicles that the wire colors are different even if they are the same year. It ultimately is up to the person installing the wiring which colors to use.
With that being said, the Bargman 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Plug # 50-97-410 is compatible with your 2008 Ford F-250 and will make your life easier when connecting and disconnecting the wiring from your trailer. I have attached an installation video for you to check out.
