Hardware Installation for Curt Hitch C13200 for 2018 Toyota Highlander LE

Question:

When attaching the hitch to the frame, the conical washers are dropped between the frame and the bolt. Are the conical washers flat? If not, which direction should they be placed on the bolt? I am receiving the hitch today, so I havent seen the parts yet. Should the narrow part of the washer be by the frame or the bolt? Its hard to tell from the pictures on the installation diagram. Thanks

Thank you for purchasing your Curt hitch # C13200.

The included conical washers should be positioned so that their teeth face upward. Note these washers do not go between the hitch flange and frame; they go on the included bolts as shown in the linked video at the 3:00-minute mark. The washers contact the hitch mounting flange once installed.
