Replacement Keys for a Yakima Track Rack on a Camper Shell

Question:

Bought this camper shell and have a Yakima rack on top, but no keys for me to remove the cross bars. How do I find out which key to order? Are they all the same?

For Yakima racks, you'll check the number printed on the side of the lock to figure out which key you'll need. If you can't see the number by removing the faceplate, you'll need to have a locksmith pick or drill out the lock and then look at the side. Then, you'll search for "Y8772-XXXX" with XXXX replaced with the numbers printed on your lock. For instance, if your lock is numbered as "A134" you'll search for part # Y8772-A134 to obtain a replacement key. Some keys may be under "Y8773-XXXX" like part # Y8873-044 that you looked at.

If you had to have the lock drilled, the locks are available as "Y8771-XXXX" and can be bought as needed to match.

If you'd like to key the system alike to other Yakima accessories you own then you'll want to order a key to unlock the existing locks, then count the total number of locks you now have. You then order one of the following kits:

8 Locks -- Part # Y07208
6 Locks -- Part # Y07206

You can order additional individual locks if you have an odd number with "Y8771-XXXX" and match the new locks in the same way as the key.
