Can the ZCI Kit # 119250KIT be Run to the Cigarette Lighter for Power on a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan

Question:

Could this be connected to a cigarrette lighter plug instead of to the battery? If not, why? Since it would have to be re configured go through the learning process every time the engine gets turned off -no power in the cigarette female plug-?? I plan to use it just one time for a move between states. Rgds and thanks.

The ZCI Kit # 119250KIT that you referenced will need to be run to the battery on your 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan and not the cigatrette lighter.

The first reason being that the cigarrette lighter is meant to only be used to power accessories. The second reson being that the converter box on this kit is used to completely bypass the wiring on your vehicle so that it doesn't get damaged. If you were to connect the power to something other than the battery then you would be completely ignoring the purpose of the converter box to begin with.
