Roof Rack Compatible with 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Altitude Package with Plastic Side Rails

Question:

Hi, Etrailer experts have been the most reliable and complete source of advice for our Jeep so far, including Jeep representatives! Below is a forwarded response from etrailer regarding our question about roof racks for our 2015 Jeep GC Laredo with the Altitude package, including the plastic side rails with no space beneath the rails. This roof is not “naked”, rather is has the plastic side rails. My husband will be most happy with the highest quality, most quiet, all black version, if available. Thank you so much! Response from Etrailer: “Side rails cannot be installed on a vehicle that did not come with them originally. At least I have not heard of anyone doing it successfully yet. But you do not need side rails to install a roof rack on your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Latitude. You would just need a roof rack fit for naked roof models. If you are looking for a basic square bar roof rack you can use Thule load bars # THLB58, foot pack # TH480, and fit kit # THKIT1656. For a more OEM appearance you can use Thule AeroBlade bars # THARB60B, foot pack # TH480R, and fit kit # THKIT1656....”

For your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Altitude, the plastic side rails require the naked roof mounting kit you referred to with the Thule bars # TH711520, foot pack # TH480R, and Fit Kit # THKIT1656. I'd also add the locks # TH450400 to secure the rack. There is not a separate mounting for the plastic Jeep flush mounted rails other than the naked roof fit kit.

If you have the E-group (which is only rails with the chrome on top with integrated channel that has plastic only on the ends) then there is a different option. If you have the chrome flush mounted rails, then I recommend the # TH711420, # TH480R, and Fit Kit # THKIT3142. The locks # TH450400 are still recommended as well.
