Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD Short Bed with Factory Rail Kit
Question:
Just got a 2018 gmc 2500hd that has the 5th wheel prep. I think the 30142 is what I need, but am confused about the wiring included. The truck has the side bed wiring already installed. Is there just a hitch I can buy without the wiring? Thanks.

For your 2018 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed that has the factory rail kit we have a great solution, but the Reese hitch you mentioned will not fit as it would only fit the Ford factory rail kits or the Reese Elite rail kits.
What you would want is the B and W Companion Slider part # BWRVK3770. This fits your rail kit directly and has a slider built into it which allows you the turning clearance you'd need.
