Weight Distribution Recommendation for Truck Towing 3,000 lb Trailer

Question:

Hi, We wanted to get advise regarding a weight distribution with sway control. We are looking at Item # EQ37060ET. We are pulling a light weight trailer of about 3,000 lbs empty weight and 300 lb tw. We drive a 2016 F-150. Would this product be the best one for us and what is the difference between 4 point and 2 point sway control?

For a trailer with an unloaded tongue weight of 300 lbs like what you said you have the Equal-i-Zer kit part # EQ37060ET would be a great option. This system has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs which your loaded tongue weight would fall right in the middle of and has a 4 point sway control design.

That means that there are 4 points on this system that are designed to move but the movement has friction which causes sway to be reduced. The 4 points are between the spring bar and the bar hanger and the head of the system and each bar.

2 point systems have only 2 areas where they reduce sway so they aren't quite as effective.

You'll need a thin walled socket like the part # ALL643216 as well to install the hitch ball too.
