Roof Rack Recommendation for 2017 Ford Transit Connect Long Wheelbase for Thule ProRide

Hi, Im looking to carry some mountain bikes on my 2017 Ford Transit Connect XL LWB. Theres no existing rails, but factory mount points. I like the Thule ProRide, but Thules feet, cross bars, fit kit, etc are expensive. Im wondering if I can go with something like a VanTech J2000 or the TracRac Van ES for the rack, and mount the ProRide to that? Will this work? Is there a good reason to get a Thule rack instead?
