Max Distance Behind Gooseneck Ball for Trailer Turning Clearance

Question:

I have a 93 Dodge cab chassis with a 10foot bed that is 8foot wide. . I have plenty of room between the hitch ball and the cab. I am wondering about the distance behind the ball and the back of the bed. What is the max distance for this?

Expert Reply:

For your 1993 Dodge Cab and Chassis with 10 foot bed, the distance from the hitch ball to the back of the bed needed would depend on your trailer as they are all slightly different. You would need to measure from the center of the ball to the farthest rear edges of your truck bed and then measure from the center of your gooseneck coupler that same distance to see if there is an impact point. If you need to gain a little space, we have the B&W Extend-A-Goose Gooseneck Coupler - 2-5/16" Ball - 10" Offset - 24,000 lbs # BWTEXA4200 that will give you an additional 10 inches. That is the largest offset we have available for your application.
