The Replacement Tie Down Ratchet # RM-2110 referenced in your question is designed to replace the tie-down ratchet for the Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1. The unit has a nice, solid construction and does offer a smooth operation with its quick release design and large release lever. You should not experience the binding issues you are having with your current model.
