Platform Rack for Carrying an Electra Townie 7D on a 2013 Ford Edge

I have an Electra Townie 7D ...no fenders. My husband has a regular Giant mens bicycle. Which platform rack would be best for the back of our 2013 Ford Edge?

One of the best heavy duty racks available is the Saris Freedom EX, part # SA4412B. This rack can carry bikes up to 60 pounds, giving you ample weight for your Electra Townie. This is a frame mount rack that is fully adjustable to the shape of the Townie, and also allows for you to position the bikes so they don't impact each other while driving with their handlebars.
Its integrated bike and hitch locks also mean the rack has some added security, giving you peace of mind when you leave the bikes hitched during a stop.
I've included a video review of this rack so you can get an idea of its features and performance on our test track.
If you haven't already installed a hitch on your vehicle, I recommend Draw-Tite's Class III trailer hitch, part # 75992. I've attached an installation video that shows several of its measurements while installed as well as the process for installing the hitch.
