Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension for 2011 Gulfstream Visa Travel Trailer

Question:

Hi Would Timbren ASR5200S01 axles work on this trailer? Would it be an easy install? Any welding required? ...Or would it be better to use ASR3500S05 and just be careful not to exceed 3500 lbs?

Timbren axle-less trailer suspensions like # ASR5200S01 and # ASR3500S05 can be bolted on to the trailer frame; welded-on installation is fine too. It's your choice.

Since the Gulfstream Visa M-19RSD single-axle travel trailer has a dry weight of 2832-lbs and is rated to sleep 5 persons I would expect its axle is rated for more than 3500-lbs. You want to ensure you replace the standard beam axle with a Timbren kit rated for the same weight capacity. Your OEM axle should have a plate or sticker on it to tell you its weight rating.

It would not be a bad idea to check with Gulfstream (using your trailer's VIN) to find out if they have any specific recommendations about install the Timbrens on your particular trailer. Sometimes simple 2 x 3-inch steel tubing makes for a sturdier installation; the Timbren kits are made with openings to accept this material.

In order for your existing hubs to fit on the included spindles they need to use the same bearings, inner bearing 25580 and outer bearing # LM67048. For your existing electric brake assemblies to mount up properly they need to use a 5-bolt mounting pattern.
