Why is There Only 1-1/4 inch Hitches Available for 2011 Mercedes C300
Question:
Hi, I am getting a 2011 Mercedes C300 and I only see a 1.25inch option. Do you have a 2inch receiver that would work? Id rather avoid an adaptor option since the car sits low.

Helpful Expert Reply:
On lighter duty vehicles like your 2011 Mercedes C300 we only have 1-1/4 inch hitches available like the Curt hitch part # C11030 which is a confirmed fit. The larger hitch size is generally only seen on SUVs and trucks that have higher towing capacities.
Also using a hitch adapter to convert to the larger hitch size cuts the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent so it's not a great solution either.
