Trailer Hitch with Safety Chain Loops Needed for 2008 Toyota Sequoia

Question:

I am looking for a standard size hitch that also has a way to attach a cable while the ball is in use. I have a keel boat that requires the trailer to be sunk to launch. Typically the wheels on the trailer are chocked, the trailer is unhitched and the towline/cable is attached around the ball hoping it wont slip off. I want one where I can hook up the cable before unhitching the trailer as a safety measure. There is an ATV option that looks what I am wanting but not in standard size. I am thinking of welding a ring to the hitch to allow this to work. Thanks

You should be able to connect your cable to the safety chain loop on the hitch of your 2008 Toyota Sequoia. If you do not have a safety chain loop then I highly recommend installing a trailer hitch that has one as it is required by law to secure any trailer with safety chains.

For your Sequoia SR5 I recommend the Curt # 13442 which is a Class III hitch that has a 2 inch receiver opening. It comes with the safety chain loops you are needing and is rated for 6,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 600 lbs tongue weight. It is rated for 10,000/1000 if you use it with weight distribution.

The installation instructions have been linked for you to reference.
