Troubleshooting PL Code on Prodigy P2 Brake Controller

Question:

P.L code comes on when attached to the truck No pedal depress or manual lever moved Just sitting attached. Checked all connections And all show good. Have trailer lights and turn signals on truck and trailer. Just this code P.L Any ideas? Stumped
