Question:
Which hitch is best for a 4800 lb. Passport trailer thats loaded 100 lbs. cargo behind last trailer axle pulled by a 2006 4Runner with a weight distribution Class III receiver. Would like anti-sway as well...thanks for your time!

When selecting a weight distribution system for your towing needs, there are a few choices to make. The first and most important decision is to select a system that is properly rated for the capacity your setup requires. Since you have 4800 pounds gross trailer weight, I would recommend a weight distribution system with a 10000 pound gross weight and 600 pound tongue weight like the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control, item # RP66086, featuring dual-cam sway control, or the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System, item # BXW0750, with 8000 pounds gross weight and 750 pounds tongue weight capacity.
You can go with the round bar system mentioned above or with a trunnion style system like the Blue Ox SwayPro system # BXW0750, or the Reese Strait-Line system, item # RP66082. The difference between round bar and trunnion systems is minimal. In my experience the trunnion style is easier to hook up and unhook and is normally built for the heavier applications. The trunnion style gives a bit more ground clearance if this is an issue for your setup.
All of the systems mentioned above include the weight distribution shank and will require a properly sized and rated hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch shank to install on the weight distribution head. The 2-5/16 inch diameter hitch ball, item # 19286, or the 2 inch diameter ball, item # A-90, will most likely be the correct choice for your setup.
The best choice is most likely one of the two Reese dual cam systems I mentioned, with the Blue Ox system being a very close second, and third would be the friction style system mentioned last. I have linked some weight distribution system information for you to review along with an installation video for one of the dual cam systems.
