Expert Reply:
The installation instructions for the Curt Class IV 2 Inch Hitch, part # 14055 on the 2001 Ford E-350 XLT Van does not indicate any problem with a full size spare underneath the vehicle. If the vehicle comes with the full size spare located underneath the vehicle from the factory you should have no problems installing the Curt hitch.
I am including a link to the installation instructions on the Curt hitch and a link to a video of the Curt hitch being installed on a 2001 Ford E-350 van. The video will show exactly where the hitch will install underneath the vehicle.
