Snow Chains for 2018 Subaru Forester

Question:

I have found chains only need to be installed on the front. My new question is are these chains really comparable for the Forester. Some other retailers appear to not think so. What do you say?

I took a look at the owner's manual for your 2018 Subaru Forester and it said that tire chains cannot be used but "another traction device (such as spring chains) may be acceptable"; it also states that the traction device needs to be Class S rated.

This would allow you to use cable style chains such as Glacier Cable Tire Chains # PW1042 which will fit your Subaru if it has 225/55-18 tires, or Glacier Cable Tire Chains # PW1038, which are a fit for your vehicle has 225/60-17 tires. You are going to need a minimum of 1.46" between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well and at least 0.59" between the tire's sidewall and your Forester in order to use these.

I've left a link to a video review of these cable chains for you to take a look at.
