Trailer Jack Replacement for Lippert Powered Jack that Is Getting Slow to Operate
Question:
I have a 6 years old travel trailer with a Lippert electric trailer jack. The jack retracts normally but lately it extends very slowly with the motor struggling to raise the trailer. I replaced both batteries with the same results. The grounds are clean and register on a volt meter. After releasing the switch the jack wont retract or extend for a minute or two like the motor has a thermal overload that has tripped. Is it possible that the motor is going out. If so can you replace just the motor.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Most likely the motor is going out or the screw/threads are getting rusty or otherwise damaged and it's time for a new jack. Lippert does not offer replacement motors so a new jack all together would be what you'd need.
I recommend the Stromberg Carlson part # JET-5000. It would be a great replacement for your Lippert.
