Can an Equal-I-Zer Head be Used with Fastway Spring Bars
Question:
I have a 92 00 1000 2 point trunnion hitch. Can I upgrade head to the 4 point and still use my spring arms? F150 with LT tires, towing 8000# tt. 900#toungue. Sways in the wind like crazy.

I believe you have the Fastway version which is a # FA92-00-1000. It is made by Equal-I-zer too. The Fastway and Equal-I-Zer heads are not interchangeable though. If you want to go to a 4-point sway control you would have to switch the whole system to Equal-I-Zer using # EQ37101ET. This is the complete system minus the shank since the shank is the only part that you can reuse.
Keep in mind that for weight distribution the tongue weight would also include the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle since it would have to lift it too. If the tongue weight is over 1,000 pounds your system will not be effective. Also if the trailer is not level when ready to tow that could create to much or too little tongue weight; all things that can increase the chance of sway.
