Parts Needed to Bypass Factory Brake Controller of 2012 Dodge Ram for Electric Over Hydraulic
Question:
My 12 RAM has an Integrated Brake Controller with an EOH setting also a Heavy Electric and Light Electric setting. I am using EOH for the recently installed Titan disc brake system on my trailer. The manual slider permits a variable voltage to the pump on the trailer and a corresponding variable braking action. When pressing on the brake pedal however, it doesnt seem to matter if I just tap the brakes or stand on them...they apply a LOT of braking action and even sometime lock up the wheels! I can feel the trailer pulling on the truck no matter what setting I have the Ram Integrated Brake Controller set to and no matter the speed. So, is this a case of the 12 RAM controller is defective or more likely that it just cant cope with EOH properly? Hard to diagnose by email but whats your best expert opinion here?

It's unfortunate, but even the integrated brake controllers designed for electric over hydraulic actuators don't always work well with them. We've found that the integrated controllers of trucks sometimes work decently, sometimes work unpredictably, and sometimes not at all.
Best option is to go to a P3 part # 90195 which will work great with the electric over hydraulic brakes you have and would easily allow you to adjust the braking application. The install harness you need is part # 3021-P.
We have been told that either a sales person has to call Dodge corporate or a tech has to do it to remove that sales code from the trucks computer to turn off any dash codes for bypassing the factory controller.
The other method is to leave the wiring for the integrated brake controller alone on your 2012 Ram 3500 and run a separate blue wire from the aftermarket controller to the 7-Way and attach it to the 5 oclock position at the back of the 7-Way by removing the wire that is already there.
This would keep the wiring for the integrated controller intact so it should not throw that error code on the dash.
