Recommended Trailer Wiring for Prodigy RF Brake Controller on 2015 VW Golf SportWagen
Question:
Question about wiring for 2015 VW Golf Sportswagon relative to brake controller. The Tekonsha RF wireless sounds very good, especially for trailer pulled by more than 1 vehicle. I undertstand that extra wires are required for brakes done those installs are there extra requirements for the normalinch 4 wire light wiring? Would Curt C59235 be ok for the lights. And extra power to the Tekonsha controller on trailerI presume the wireless etc controller draws more power than just for power assist to Curt light converter. Thanks. Your videas are always clear, but these questions are very specific and off.

For your 2015 VW Golf SportWagen you will need the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236 and then add the # ETBC7. Because you will only be adding the 12V power to the 7-way connection, you can tape up the blue and purple wires. You will just use the 40 amp circuit breaker to run the gray duplex wire. The circuit breaker will go between the battery positive terminal and the trailer connector on the black wire. The white wire in that duplex wiring will go to ground and connect at the 7-way.
Then you will have what you need for the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional # TK94FR to function on your trailer correctly. I've attached videos to assist.
