For your 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 6-1/2 foot bed, I recommend a custom fit 5th wheel trailer hitch installation kit, # RP50064-58. The custom kits take about half the time to install over the universal kit because there is less drilling involved and the underbed brackets are designed to fit the frame rails on your truck.
Short bed trucks will require a slider 5th wheel trailer hitch. If the hitch you have is stationary # RP30928, there is a good chance you will not be able to safely make tight turns. If you need a slider, depending on which trailer hitch you have, you may be able to remove the head from the one you have and put it on the slider base. Or, for a complete slider hitch, I recommend # RP30075.
