Performance Tuner for 1997 Ford F-150 with 4.6L V8 Engine
Question:
I have a 1997 F-150 4.6 running on premium fuel. How can I adjust the computer to run reg fuel? Will this tuner let me make this change?

If your 1997 Ford F-150 with 4.6L V8 engine has not been re-tuned through use of an aftermarket programmer then you do not need to do anything in order to switch from premium fuel to regular-grade fuel. The truck's computer will require some time to adjust to the new fuel but it will not have to be re-programmed.
Do please note that the item you referenced, Edge Insight CTS2 Comprehensive Gauge Display # EP84130, is NOT a tuner. This item is a monitor only and displays engine data taken from the OBD-II port. It does not alter the engine operation in any way.
We do offer products that are both monitors and tuners, that actually do allow you to make changes to the engine's operating parameters. You could use the Superchips Dashpaq Performance Tuner - 2.4" Color Screen - Gas - Ford # SU1060. This tuner can deliver power gains of up to 15 HP and torque gains of up to 20-lb-ft.
These products are shown on the linked page. Each includes 4 preset tune options for economy, towing, performance, and extreme power. Transmission shift points can also be adjusted.
When you install one of these new tunes into your computer the original tune file is stored inside the programmer so that you can restore those settings if you wish.
