Reese 5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2017 F-250 with Factory Prep and Tonneau Cover
Question:
Hi there, I have just purchased a 2017 F-250 crew cab, 6.75foot box diesel with the factory installed 5th wheel mounting prep. I need a 5th wheel hitch current trailer is 13k lbs AND I have the backflip hard tonneau cover installed so I need hitch low enough to close the cover. I have been using a Pullrite Superslider but when I add the mounting bracket it is too high to close the cover. Does Reese have a slider hitch that connects directly to the Ford mounting pucks? Many thanks.

The 5th wheel hitches made to fit the factory tow prep package in your 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty are shown on the linked page. For the lowest height you will want to use a below-bed type install kit since this will avoid need for adapters like # RP30156 that add height.
Reese does offer an option, part # RP30144, their Elite Series 18K. This hitch has a height range of 16- to 18-inches and it includes features such as an extra-wide funnel and 4-way pivoting head for easier hitching. The slider has 10-inches of travel. This hitch includes a 7-way wiring kit for the bed.
The height range for each hitch is indicated on the linked page.
