Brake Controller and Install Harness Recommendation for 2004 Ford F-150 with 4-Way
Question:
I have a 2004 Ford f150 . It has a port for the brake controller next to the diagnostic port, but the back has 4 pin connector. Is there a 7 pin connector available to hook to the rear without having to wire the whole 7 pin harness. I read somewhere there was a connection under the spare tire. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

We have just what you'd need. For your 2004 Ford F-150 with a 4-way you'd need the part # 118247 to convert it to a 7-way so that you can install a brake controller.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well.
Then for the install harness you'd want the part # 3035-P which is a custom fit for your truck.
