Will Curt Support Strap for Bike Rack Damage Plastic Spoiler on 2018 Subaru Outback
Question:
I just installed a Curt hitch to my 2018 Outback from you. I have a Swagman bike rack. On my sedan I normally run the strap to the lip of the trunk. Works very well. With the Outback there is a small plastic spoiler with the plastic piece on the edge. Will hooking the strap to the hinge gap put too much pressure on this plastic edged spoiler?

Expert Reply:
The Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap - Bike Rack Strap with Cambuckle # 18050 should not put too much pressure on the plastic spoiler of your 2018 Subaru Outback, but they don't give another option for your vehicle that won't void the warranty. You may want to use a small towel or foam to protect your vehicle paint on the spoiler because it will become a pivot point. I've attached a video to assist.
