Parts Needed to Install Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, # RP30439 on 2011 Toyota Tundra 6-1/2 Foot Bed
Question:
Is an adapter kit also required with this kit to install rails in my 2011 Toyota Tundra 4X4 double cab P/U with a 6 1/2 foot bed? If so what would the number be and the cost of this kit? Thanks

The Reese Universal Installation Kit (No Base Rails) - 10 Bolt, part # RP30439, is just the universal installation brackets. The Reese Universal Base Rails - 10 Bolt, part # RP58058, will be the base rails that are used with the Reese brackets # RP30439. If you need the universal brackets and the universal base rails together you would use the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit, part # RP30035.
On a 2011 Toyota Tundra 4x4 with a 6-1/2 foot bed you will also need the Reese Fifth Wheel Spacer Kit, part # RP58309, along with the base rails (# RP58058) and the installation brackets (# RP30439). The spacers ensure the required 1/2 inch spacing between the frame and truck bed, preventing damage to the truck bed when you torque the bolts.
The complete installation kit including everything you will need is the Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # RP30035-309. It includes base rails, mounting brackets, and spacers along with the mounting hardware. I am including a link to the installation instructions on the Reese kit # RP30035-309.
On the 2011 Toyota Tundra with the 6-1/2 foot bed you will need to use a fifth wheel slider hitch to get the needed clearance between the trucks cab and the front of the fifth wheel trailer when making sharp turns.
