Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Behind RV
Question:
Can you lay out for me the best recommended tow set-up all inclusive for a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4-door that will be towed behind a Ford F-53 Tiffin Allegro chassis based motorhome. Thanks.

We have everything you need to set up your 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara to be towed behind your motorhome. For this, you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cable set, lighting solution, and a supplemental braking system.
Starting with the base plates, as long as your Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has standard factory bumpers (no winches or guards), I recommend the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit # RM-521448-4. These base plates are custom-fit for this vehicle and feature a hidden bracket design for a nice, sleek look when compared to standard brackets.
Then for a tow bar, I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520. This 6,000 pound capacity unit features telescoping arms that will automatically lock into place and allow for better maneuverability and easier towing. It is compatible with the above mentioned base plates and can also secure alongside the motorhome for easy storage when not in use. For safety cables I recommend the Roadmaster 68 Inch Single Hook # RM-643.
Moving on to a lighting solution, I highly recommend the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit # HM56200. This harness is custom-fit for your Jeep Wrangler and will give it the required signal lights for flat towing without having to splice into the wiring. It will provide a 4-Way flat plug at the front of the Jeep to connect to your motor home.
Then, for a supplemental braking system, I really like the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System # BLU37TR. This is a great, proportional system that will physically press down on he Jeep's brake pedal at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your motor home. You will just need to add the 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 and the Brake-Lite Relay # RM-88400.
Lastly, you will likely need a high-low adapter in order to keep your tow bar level. I have attached an article that explains how to choose the correct adapter for your setup along with a link that will take you to our available selection.
I have also attached demonstration and installation videos for all of the products mentioned and a couple flat towing articles that you might also find helpful.
