Will a Class 1 Hitch Fit all 1-1/4 inch Bike Carriers
Question:
I am thinking of ordering a Draw-Tite 24828 Class I hitch for my 2008 Scion XD so I can use my old Draw-tite 1 1/4 bike carrier. Is there anything I should check on the old bike carrier to make sure it will fit? I used it on my old car with a Class II hitch.

The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 24827, that you referenced is a Class I hitch that can only accept Class I accessories. You will need to check to make sure that the Draw-Tite bike carrier you have is also a Class I, otherwise it will not work. I attached installation instructions for this product for you to check out.
Class II hitch accessories will not work on a Class I hitch, however Class I hitch accessories will work in a Class II hitch.
In order to determine if you could use your Draw-Tite bike rack in the # 24828 you will need to know what hitch classification accessory your rack is first.
I attached an FAQ page on hitch classifications for you to check out.
If you decide you need a new Class I bike rack I attached a page that has all of our Class I bike racks that we sell.
