Will Curt Clamp-On 3 Bike Rack for 2 Ball Mounts # C18103 Work with a Motorcycle Carrier
Question:
Will C18103 work with custom motorcycle carrier? I measured the width of the 2 inch solid steel ball mount I use in my 2 inch receiver on my truck - 2.020 inches. I measured the square tube on my motorcycle rack - 2.050 inches. Will the clamp work with the square tube that is .03 inches wider? Do I need to be concerned with the clamp crushing the square tube? I dont think so, but wanted to check with the experts. I have attached a picture. The motorcycle rack fits into the 1.25 inch receiver on my 2017 CR-V, part number 36597 which I recently purchased from etrailer.com.

The Curt Clamp-On 3 Bike Rack for 2" Ball Mounts # C18013 is compatible with standard 2-inch ball mounts like part # BM20. The 0.30 inch difference that you measured is not significant enough to affect the installation of this bike rack so it should fit just fine.
With that being said, you will need to make sure that you stay under the Tongue Weight (TW) capacity of your 2017 Honda CR-V. Although the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 36597 that you purchased has a Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) of 3,500 lbs and a TW capacity of 350 lbs your CR-V is the limiting factor. Your CR-V has a GTW of 1,500 lbs and when I looked up the TW capacity in an online owner's manual it stated that the TW of a trailer being towed should be 10%. If we based your TW off of that then you will need to keep the TW of your equipment under 150 lbs do avoid serious damage to your trailer hitch, CR-V, and any equipment you are carrying. You can verify the TW of your CR-V by checking your owner's manual and/or checking with a dealer.
