Recommended Capture Plates for Demco Hijacker Autoslide Hitch with Trailair® Rota-FlexTM Pin Box

Question:

I am considering purchasing a Dm8550024 hitch. I have looked at your literature and videos describing this hitch here and on you tube, which leads to my question. The 5th wheel I am thinking of purchasing has a Trailair® Rota-FlexTM Pin Box installed. So, do I need to purchase anything other than the hitch in order to hook up. Thank you.

The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Ford Super Duty Prep Package - 18K # DM8550024 is an excellent choice. It will automatically adjust for you to allow for proper clearance when turning. This hitch does require different capture plates that are fairly inexpensive to work with your pin box. The Demco Hijacker Autoslide Capture Plates for Trailair Rota-Flex Pin Boxes # DM6171 will make this 5th wheel hitch work well with your pin box.

If you don't already have a second 7-way wiring connection in the bed of your truck, you may also want to consider the Bargman 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness for Aluminum Truck Bed - 7 Way RV - 9' Long # 50-97-410-010. This will give you easy connection access with an easy connection to your factory wiring already present.
