Which Weight Distribution System is Best for Sway Control
Question:
I was speaking to someone recently about hitch systems they recommended the Blue Ox Sway Pro over the Equalizer. I am pretty sure these both do a fine job with weight distribution but I was curious about the sway control. In your opinion, which one of these do you think would offer the better sway control?

For a total tongue weight of 650 lbs, I recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37100ET. I believe the 1,000 lb system will work better for you than the 600 lb system as most of our customers tend to add weight as time progresses. Furthermore, it is okay to be at the lower range of a weight distribution system but exceeding this rating could in turn cause the system to perform poorly and become less effective.
As a reminder, the total tongue weight that will need to be calculated when choosing a weight distribution system is that of the loaded ready to tow trailer in addition to any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. Using the etrailer Trailer Tongue Weight Scale part # e99044 is an excellent way to consistently and accurately measure this.
Speaking solely on customer feedback and previous experiences, the Equal-i-zer weight distribution systems are one of the best on the market. You are right to consider an Equal-i-zer system for sway control as unlike most other weight distribution systems, all Equal-i-zer systems have an integrated 4-point sway control feature, designed to not only reduce trailer sway as it is occurring but also to prevent sway from happening entirely. In the contrary, most of our other weight distribution systems only work to correct sway as it is occurring, not before it happens.
I have also included a review video of the Equal-i-zer system for you to check out as well.
