Raising 2005 Copper Canyon Fifth Wheel That Already has Axle Under the Springs

Question:

Hello I have a question on my 05 copper canyon sprinter.I bought this trailer used a few weeks back.In order to get 6 inches between tailgate and rv the nose of the camper is way up in the air.my springs dont seem shot on trailer. But ive noticed the rear trailer tires are rubbing on floor of rv. i believe it was supposed to have 205/75r15 tires from factory and it has 225 on it .If i go back to 205/75 it will help the rubbing situation but make the rv even lower. also my axle is already under the springs.do they make blocks and longer ubolts like for the rear of a truck or a taller center equalizer.I am at a loss as to what to do.

There are some options for you to raise your 2005 Copper Canyon, the first of which is to replace your current hangers with taller ones, though they may not give you a great amount of lift. There is also the possibility of a lift kit, though only if your Copper Canyon has Dexter Torflex axles. For example, the Torflex Lift Kit # K71-725-02 is for side-mounted #12 Torflex axles with 5,500-7,000-lb capacities. I've added links to our pages with each of our hangers and lift kits for you to take a look at.

You could also replace your axles with the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System. For example, # ASR2KHDS04 works with 3,500 lbs hub and drum assemblies and will give you 4" of lift. I've added a photo showing you the difference between a regular axle and the Timbren system so you can see firsthand how it works. I've also attached link to a video review of this product as well as a link to each of our Timbren systems.

Finally, you are going to need to replace your tires with smaller ones if they are rubbing. I recommend going with the ST205/75R/15 # TR20515D, which have a load range of D, with a max per-tire load of 2.150 lbs at 65 psi and a speed rating of M (81 mph). You can watch a video review of this tire by clicking on the attached link I've added for you.
