If you have the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole w/Test Lamps # C57674 correctly installed then the 12V light will remain on as that is 12V of constant current going to the adapter.

The way that the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 and P3 # 90195 brake controllers work is that they have to have a trailer connected and there has to be movement for the inertia sensor to actually send output to the brake controller pin on your 7-Way when the brake pedal is pressed. The way to test one of these controllers without a trailer connected and without moving the tow vehicle is to set the power setting as high as it will go and then use the manual override lever to apply full power to that pin. If you do this then you should see that light labeled "BK" light up when you use the manual override - this means that it is working correctly.

Let me know if that doesn't work and I can help you do some troubleshooting.

If your Prodigy is not giving any output but it is able to turn on then you will want to sever the Blue wire about 6 inches away from the brake controller and test it using a Circuit Tester # PTW2992. You will want to, again, set it to the highest setting and use the manual override switch. If you do not see any power then your brake controller is most likely bad and needs to be replaced. You can verify this by testing the Red wire coming in to the brake controller. If it receives power when your brake pedal is pressed then your Prodigy needs to be replaced, otherwise you will simply need to replace the Pigtail # 20127 or adapter. If you do see power then you will want to route new wire from the brake controller to the Blue wire on your Curt Adapter # C57674. You can use 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 and Butt Connectors # DW05745-5 to do this.
