Recommended 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Wiring and Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
Hello Experts, I have a 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. My jeep is only equipped with the hitch, no wiring what so ever. I plan to pull a lightweight 1300 lb pop up tent trailer with a 7 round trailer wiring connector and on occasion pull a super light weight SportsRig utility trailer for my kayaks which has a flat 4 connector. I would like to add wiring that will work for both the 7 round and the flat 4, along with a trailer brake for the coleman tent trailer. What components do you suggest? Do you sell a wiring set that will allow me to run the wires for all 3 connections in one easy install? Thank you in advance!

I have exactly what you need. You will start with the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118416. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Jeep Wrangler Unlimited's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side tail light. I've attached a video to assist.
Then you will use this 4-way connection along with the # ETBC7 to wire an electric brake controller. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 which will apply the trailer brakes at the same time and with the same amount of force as you hit the brake pedal in your Jeep. This controller also has great presets and will also have an easy to read and understand LCD display.
The # ETBC7 will come with a trailer connector that has both the 7-way and the 4-way connections present without an adapter needed.
