If you're going to use a winch to raise and lower your popup you will want a winch that power loads both in and out. With a winch that will only power load in you will only be able to raise the popup and not lower with the winch.

We have the Superwinch LT2000 # 1120210 that will load both in and out.

Hi I have a 2000 palomino pop up camper it has a crank to lift and lower which gets stuck. I bought an electric one and was wondering if it would work ?

I would assume so. I'm not too familiar with the crank lift system on your camper but a lot of people have swapped out a system like yours with an electric winch so it should be just fine.

Can this winch be operated in a manual mode with a hand crank in case the battery dies or winch fails?

There is a free-spool feature so that you can let out the line a lot faster but if you're wanting to go with something that has a complete manual override system on it I recommend checking out something like the Dutton-Lainson # DL25200.

I bought a 97 Dutchman Pop up with a Goshen Winch. It is extremely difficult to crank up. Could I put a electric winch on this? Or would a replacement Goshen winch be just a well?

An electric winch like the above-mentioned Superwinch # 1120210 will certainly ease the process, even over a new Goshen manual unit. If you're able to hook it up to power I recommend going this route.

You should be able to go to an electric winch for your pop-up camper without a problem. For this application I actually like the Bulldog # BDW15006 because it has a load-holding brake mechanism.

The Superwinch # 1120210 that Jameson mentioned above would actually work really well. Like he referenced, it can power a load in and out and also has plenty of capacity for your pop-up. It will work perfectly for this application.
