Base Plate Kit Available for Flat Towing the 2012 Ford Focus
Question:
Do you have base plates for a 2012 ford focus?

Expert Reply:
If your 2012 Ford Focus does not have adaptive cruise control then we do offer a couple of base plate options. I have provided a link to the options for your reference.
I recommend the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit # RM-524430-4. There are several components that are associated with a full flat towing setup up and if you do not already have them you will need the base plates like the # 524430-1, a tow bar, safety cables, tow bar wiring, and a supplemental braking system.
For a tow bar system I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar # RM-520. This is compatible with the Roadmaster EZ baseplates recommended above, but you will also want the Roadmaster Safety Cables # RM-643.
For your lighting system I recommend using the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit # RM-155. This is a bulb and socket kit that you will install in the tail lights of your Ford Focus, and will be controlled from a 4-way flat output from your RV. This system will bypass your Focus wiring system and will isolate it from wiring issues associated with the RV. I have also linked you to the other lighting options that we have confirmed as a fit for your Focus.
Please check with your owners manual and to see what if there are any special instructions or restrictions for flat towing your 2012 Ford Focus. It is possible that you may also need a battery disconnect, and I recommend the # RM-766.
Finally for a braking system, as is required in most states, I recommend the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400. You may also need the Roadmaster Stop light switch # RM-751449, and the 12-volt outlet kit # RM-9332.
