Spare Tire Carrier For 1969 Open Road Chevrolet Camper

Question:

Hey! I have a 1969 Open Road Chevrolet camper that does not have a place for a spare tire. I found your C31006 and Im pretty sure it will do the trick. However, as you can see in the pic there is a deck that comes off the rear bumper and sits flat. This makes a great place to watch sunsets, drink margaritas, etc... Is there any chance you also have a model with a swivel that would allow me to the unit down without taking the entire unit and tire off? As a senior with a bad back this is a real consideration. Many thanks!

The Curt Trailer Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier # C31006 is a nice carrier but you would need to remove it to put down your deck. There are a couple of options for a pivoting carrier however. The Folding, Bumper Mounted Tire Carrier - U-Bolt Mount # TR-2 would need to be bolted to the bumper itself based on the design of your trailer. For a hitch mount, the only option we carry is the Roadmaster Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier w/ 2" Receiver Opening - 2" Hitches # RM-195225 which makes even moving large spare tires easy and still gives you a trailer hitch receiver that is usable.
