Recommended 7-Way Connector for 2017 Ford Escape Titanium w/Towing Package
Question:
I wish to add a 7 pin connector to my 2017 Ford Escape - Titanium w/towing package. I do not wish to install a brake controller at this time. Is the ETBC7 the unit I should be looking at?

This 7-way connector, part # ETBC7, is a "one-stop" universal kit that gives you everything you need. Part # ETBC7 converts your existing 4-Way connector to a 7-Way connector. This conversion will give you access to auxiliary functions like backup lights, 12V power supply, and electric trailer brake controller. The kit includes wiring and accessories needed for your vehicle: 10-gauge duplex wire (25 feet), heavy-duty breakers (20-, 30-, and 40-amp), circuit tester, self-tapping screws, quick-splice wiring connectors, and more.
Another adaptor to consider is part # 37185 that converts your 4-Way to a 7-Way if you do not need the brake controller option. It is easy to install and may be more than enough for your needs.
I have included some links that cover more details about part # ETBC7, a brake controller installation video for a 2013 Ford Escape that includes part # ETBC7, and an installation video for part # 37185.
If you decide to add a brake controller, I recommend Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 or Prodigy P3 # 90195 because both are easy to setup and use and both are reliable.
