5th Wheel/Gooseneck Trailer Wiring Harness for 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector HM40975-11998

Question:

Hi- What 5th wheel/gooseneck T-connector harness would I use in conjunction with the HM40975-11998 kit? Context: I have a 2000 F550 that has just a blunt-cut 7-wire harness at the rear of the vehicle that is currently wired into an old, broken 7-blade RV socket at the rear bumper. I want to replace that broken socket with a new mult-tow 7-pole RV/4-flat socket at the bumper, and also wire in a 7-pole RV socket in the bed for towing a fifth wheel trailer. Attached picture is of the current, super-sketchy wiring to the 7-pole RV connector at the rear bumper.

The connector that plugs into the back of the 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Sockets w/ Mounting Bracket and Wiring - Vehicle End Item # HM40975-11998 is what is called a US car connector. You can use any 5th wheel/gooseneck wiring harness with the same type of connectors that plugs in line with a 7-Way. I recommend # 50-97-410. It has the 90 degree bend at the back of its 7-Way which is easier to fit inside the walls of the truck bed on your 2000 Ford F-550. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
